چکیده

Drought stress poses a serious threat to Pinus massoniana seedling growth in southern China. Trichoderma species, as beneficial microorganisms, have been widely used agriculture enhance plant and drought tolerance, but the interaction mechanisms remain unclear. To investigate effect of drought-resistant longibrachiatum inoculation on P. under stress, physiological indicators rhizosphere microbiome diversity were measured identify Trichoderma-activated mechanisms. significantly promoted treatment, enhanced nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium absorption compared with those non-inoculated seedlings. treatment alleviated damage cell membranes needle tissue structure, increased antioxidant enzyme activities, osmotic substance contents, photosynthesis response stress. Soil nutrient activities sucrase, phosphatase, urease well relative abundances dominant genera Burkholderia, Rhodanobacter, elevated soil inoculated T. A network analysis showed that certain crucial taxa driven by inoculation, including Penicillium, Trichoderma, Simplicillium, Saitozyma, Bradyrhizobium, Sinomonas, Mycobacterium, had more correlations other microorganisms soil. regulating responses microbial community.

Growth Response of Drought-Stressed Pinus sylvestris Seedlings to Single- and Multi-Species Inoculation with Ectomycorrhizal Fungi

Many trees species form symbiotic associations with ectomycorrhizal (ECM) fungi, which improve nutrient and water acquisition of their host. Until now it is unclear whether the species richness of ECM fungi is beneficial for tree seedling performance, be it during moist conditions or drought. We performed a pot experiment using Pinus sylvestris seedlings inoculated with four selected ECM fungi ...

Soil Temperature Influences on Root Resistance of Pinus contorta Seedlings.

The influence of low temperature in the root zone on water uptake in lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta Dougl. ex Loud.) was studied under laboratory conditions. To remove soil hydraulic influences, two-year-old seedlings were transferred to solution cultures and maintained in temperature controlled water baths. Short term measurements of leaf conductance, leaf water potential and tritiated water m...

Morpho-physiological responses in Alnus subcordata and Acer velutinum seedlings to drought stress

In this study, the effect of drought stress on morphological and physiological characteristics of two forest species: Alnus subcordata and Acer velutinum, which are used in natural forest restoration and afforestation, was evaluated. A factorial experiment was conducted based on a completely randomized design with two factors (two species and four levels of drought stress: (25% (severe stress),...

Urbanization in China drives soil acidification of Pinus massoniana forests

Soil acidification instead of alkalization has become a new environmental issue caused by urbanization. However, it remains unclear the characters and main contributors of this acidification. We investigated the effects of an urbanization gradient on soil acidity of Pinus massoniana forests in Pearl River Delta, South China. The soil pH of pine forests at 20-cm depth had significantly positive ...

Physiological responses of two wheat cultivars to soil drought.

Young plants of the two wheat cultivars Katya and Prelom, differing in their reaction to drought in the field, were grown in soil in pots, and their water status was assessed as well as the intensity of gas exchange, chlorophyll fluorescence, and accumulation of compatible solutes and hydrogen peroxide after 7 days of dehydration. It was established that cv. Katya displayed markedly better tole...
